"Reluctantly crouched at the starting line..." | Beginning a Business

Updated: Oct 23, 2023

Okay...not reluctantly.

Starting a new thing is exciting.

I think that's why, as a kid, I was always starting things. Every day was an explosion of new ideas, obsessions, and fascinations. I couldn't get enough of the rush that I experienced when an idea, something in my head, became reality.

To be able to touch and see something that didn't exist, that couldn't have existed, until you willed it to be so... it's exhilarating- it's the very act of creation.

That's why this journey has been so amazing.

And we're not even done getting started!

This is just the beginning.

Building a business takes patience- it takes years of dedication and unmatched consistency. But the process is worth it, and frankly, I'm in love with it.

Starting a business in this day and age, 2023, is especially difficult. You're not just building a business, you're developing a brand identity. You're churning out content and daily reminders on your socials that "Hey, I'm still here, doing the same ole thing!"

Conditioning and honing your audience so that, to them, you are inseparably associated with a very specific set of skills (your niche) is now mandatory for running any kind of business.

We don't get to just create things anymore- it's making with a singular purpose and making with follow-up. Your audience should think of you when they think of what you create or do.

And after years and years of that consistency, posting, and interaction, you will have the pleasure of cultivating a very rare and beautiful thing: trust.

I know that it will take a while to earn your trust in the work that I do, but that's the fun part: You're telling me that building an audience takes time, but I get to spend that time doing something that I love? Sign me up!

I have the unique and incredibly opportunity to take awesome photos, all while working with cool people, and always pushing the envelope on quality. I could spend the rest of my life perfecting what it means to be a photographer, and it would be a life well-spent.

So....

On your marks...

Get set..
